JUDICIAL PATERNITY TEST

At LabGenetics we carry out judicial paternity and maternity tests using DNA tests. From 250 euros and with complete confidentiality.

We have professionals who are pioneers in carrying out DNA tests for biological research into paternity and maternity, which positions us as one of the reference centres in the Forensic Genetics sector at a European level. The results provided are conclusive, reliable and of high quality, complying with all the technical and methodological requirements necessary to obtain accreditation through the UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard for Forensic Genetics tests.

In the judicial paternity test, the applicant needs the test result that includes the name and identification of all participants so that it can be used in a Civil Registry or Court of Justice.

The admissibility of these tests by a Court is subject to a correct process of taking, identifying and sending the samples to our facilities, so all parts of the process up to the moment of analysis must be perfectly described and recorded in a chain of custody. This can only be completed by health or justice professionals, who will identify and guard the samples to guarantee their authenticity and integrity at all times.

We have pioneering professionals in carrying out DNA tests for paternity and maternity, as well as kinship, genetic fingerprints, detection of biological fluids, ancestry studies and DNA tests for people affected by irregular adoptions or newborn abduction.

Taking and sending samples

Those involved in the test must come to our facilities or to any of our collaborating centres (distributed throughout the national territory) where they can have the samples taken. Contact us and we will indicate the nearest collaborating centre. In addition, if necessary, our professionals can travel to take the sample at home.

In order to take the sample and complete the chain of custody, participants in the test must provide:

  • DNI or passport
  • In the case of minors, a recent photograph (essential) and a photocopy of the family book or legal authorisation justifying parental authority over the minor (recommended)
  • In the case of paternity/maternity tests, the authorisation of the other parent is not necessary for the test to be legally valid in Spain.

The collaborating centre will be responsible for sending us the samples along with all the necessary documentation (application form, chain of custody, photocopies of the participants’ documentation, etc.).
