Samples from the person affected by cases of newborn abduction or irregular adoptions, whether it is the mother or father searching for the abducted baby, or the abducted person searching for their parents.

Note: It is always preferable to send a sample from the mother or father of the abducted baby, rather than from a sibling.

There are several procedures. Choose the one that best suits your needs.

• Visit the LabGenetics facilities. Our staff will collect samples through buccal swabbing. To do this, you must come to the laboratory with your documentation.
• Visit one of our partner centers if you are not in Madrid. Contact LabGenetics and we will inform you of the nearest partner center.
• Request a sample collection kit. We will send it to the address you provide. Requesting the sample collection kit involves payment for the test at the same time. The kit contains precise usage instructions. Once the samples are taken, you must send them to us by certified and urgent postal mail, or by courier. The shipping costs are your responsibility.
• Take the samples yourself without the need for a kit. To do this, proceed as follows for each participant in the test:

The sample collection must be done in the presence of an adult witness, who can be a family member, friend, or acquaintance. You must provide us with the valid identification of both the person involved in the test and the witness.

In the presence of the witness, rub the right inner cheek with a cotton swab (on both ends) for approximately 30 seconds. With another swab, repeat the same operation on the left inner cheek. Then it is VERY IMPORTANT to let both swabs air dry at room temperature in a protected place for at least 1 hour. After this time, handling the samples as little as possible, place the swabs in a paper envelope, indicating whether it is a child, father, mother, etc.

Once you have the samples taken and properly identified, you must download and complete the request form. Finally, you must send us the samples, the request, and the documentation by certified and urgent postal mail, or by courier. The shipping costs are your responsibility.

• If you already have an autosomal STR profile, you can send us your genetic profile (along with consent for comparison). At LabGenetics, we will enter it into our database free of charge.

To ensure LabGenetics can send you the report with the results of your test, payment must be made in advance using one of the following methods:

• Payment gateway when requesting the kit
• Bank transfer (to the account number indicated on the application form)
• Credit card
• Credit card or cash at our facilities in San Sebastián de los Reyes
• Cash on delivery upon sending the results, with an additional cost of €20

The results of your DNA analysis will be ready within approximately 10 to 15 business days from the receipt of the samples. You will receive your report, in complete confidentiality, through the method you prefer (as indicated previously on the application form):

• Email
• Regular mail
• Courier service, with an additional cost of €15
• In-person delivery at our facilities in San Sebastián de los Reyes, upon identification of the test requester

The confidentiality of all LabGenetics services is absolute. We comply with Organic Law 3/2018, of December 5, on the Protection of Personal Data and guarantee of digital rights, and our databases are registered with the Spanish Data Protection Agency for greater control and security.

The professionals at LabGenetics are accredited as Judicial Experts by the Official College of Biologists of the Community of Madrid. If necessary, they can attend any court in Spain to confirm reports with judicial validity. Our experts are qualified to provide scientific-technical advisory services and to attend legal proceedings as judicial experts to confirm expert reports based on DNA testing.
