This demonstrates our ability to provide services that meet regulatory and legal requirements, client specifications, the environmental aspects that the organization can control, and the competence to perform specific tasks.

Additionally, we meet all technical and methodological requirements necessary to achieve accreditation under the UNE-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard for forensic genetics testing.
Technical advice and expert reports
In recent years, there has been a continuous increase in the use of DNA testing in all types of legal proceedings, including both civil (paternity disputes and claims) and criminal (accusation of suspects after the genetic identification of biological evidence).
Although today the validity of DNA testing is beyond doubt, it is essential for both lawyers and their clients to understand the technical fundamentals of the test, its usefulness, its limitations, and, most importantly, its interpretation in especially complex cases involving mixed genetic profiles from multiple individuals, partial or incomplete profiles, etc.
The professionals at LabGenetics are accredited as Judicial Experts by the Official College of Biologists of the Community of Madrid. Therefore, if necessary, they are prepared to attend any court in Spain to validate issued reports. Our experts are qualified to provide scientific and technical advisory services, which include:
-
Interpretation of expert reports based on DNA evidence in judicial proceedings.
-
Expert opinions and counter-expert opinions of reports issued by other laboratories, public or private.
-
Assistance in legal proceedings as court experts for the ratification of expert reports based on DNA evidence.
-
Theoretical and practical training in Forensic Genetics techniques for professionals in the sector, individuals, companies, laboratories and research groups.
Quality controls
At LabGenetics, we actively participate in quality controls organized by the GHEP-ISFG and the European Molecular Genetics Quality Network (EMQN). We hold the EMQN 2022 Certificate and the EMQN 2023 Certificate. We use procedures and protocols in all our analyses adapted according to recommendations from ISFG, EMQN, EDNAP (European DNA Profiling group), ENFSI (European Network of Forensic Science Institutes), and the UK Clinical Molecular Genetics Society.
Complaint or claim procedure
Our clients have access to the Complaints Book of the Community of Madrid at our facilities, which consists of 3 copies: one for the client, one for LabGenetics, and a third for the administration.
Alternatively, if the client prefers, they can file a complaint or claim via our email: info@labgenetics.es
When LabGenetics receives a complaint or claim from a client, it will follow this procedure:
- First, the nature of the complaint will be reviewed, and if applicable, an immediate action will be taken to address any urgent consequences.
- Next, an investigation will be conducted to determine the root cause of the problem, and a Corrective Action will be proposed to fix the cause and prevent its recurrence.
- Once the issue that prompted the complaint or claim has been resolved, the client will be informed in writing of the investigation results and the actions taken.
LabGenetics guarantees that all complaints and claims will always be handled impartially by its staff.
