LabGenetics offers, within its Technology Transfer Department, the possibility of carrying out customized projects for the implementation and establishment of molecular biology laboratories outside Spain, specializing in human genetic analysis, both in the fields of Forensic Genetics and Clinical Genetics.
The projects designed by LabGenetics are completely flexible and adaptable to the needs of each applicant, while maintaining the highest quality guarantees at all times. The investment in a genetic analysis laboratory with the characteristics and quality systems that LabGenetics offers provides an excellent cost/benefit ratio.
All Technology Transfer projects by LabGenetics are divided into different phases which, depending on the requirements of each client, can be implemented in their entirety or only those considered necessary.
Through technology transfer, LabGenetics aims to transfer skills, knowledge, and technologies to ensure that scientific and technological advances are accessible to a larger number of companies, allowing them to further develop and exploit these technologies for new advancements and create value.
- Transmission of specialized technical knowledge and experiences, in the form of reliability studies, plans, models, manuals, detailed formulas, or specific instructions, as well as for acquiring, installing, and using machines and equipment for genetic study.
Our goal in technology transfer collaborations is to promote development and growth by providing access to the knowledge and experience of research groups, innovation, and technological development and evolution.
Development of the project
In this phase, LabGenetics develops a technical project tailored to each client’s needs, the available space, and the type and volume of samples expected to be analyzed. Once this information is known, a customized project is created, which includes:
Laboratory Design divided into different rooms to facilitate the development and operation of the laboratory, minimizing any risk of contamination between different work areas. The plans also include the layout of laboratory furniture, equipment, electrical installations, climate control, etc.
Equipment List necessary to ensure the highest quality in the techniques performed. Additionally, essential materials and reagents for the proper functioning of the laboratory are included.
Project execution and start-up
The installation of the laboratory is carried out in different phases:
- Construction necessary to divide the space into different workrooms. Similarly, the various rooms are adapted according to their intended use (electrical installation, water connections, climate control, access controls, etc.).
- Distribution and installation of furniture specifically designed for Molecular Biology laboratories for each room (benches, drawers, cabinets, shelves, chairs, etc.).
- Arrangements related to the purchase of equipment, materials, and reagents necessary for the operation of the future laboratory. LabGenetics ensures the supply of high-tech equipment from reputable brands that guarantee maintenance and supply of spare parts within the country where the laboratory is located.
- Commissioning. Once the physical setup of the laboratory is completed, LabGenetics installs all the equipment in the various rooms, verifying its optimal functioning.
Scientific and technical training
The training and specific education plan for each project will depend on both the techniques and methodologies to be implemented in the laboratory and the prior training of the technical staff. Here are some features of this service:
- Training and qualification plan that includes theoretical and practical aspects following the standards, recommendations, and guidelines of various international standardization groups, with a complete updated manual, as well as different articles, reviews, norms, and recommendations related to the implemented methodology.
- Training courses provided, both in their theoretical and practical components, by LabGenetics’ technical staff, who are highly qualified and have extensive accredited experience in the field of Clinical and Forensic Genetics.
- Training in the newly installed laboratory, ensuring that the technical staff acquires the theoretical and practical knowledge necessary to perform the implemented procedures with complete reliability and precision.
- Assessment to evaluate the competence and qualification of the technical staff. Once this assessment is passed, a certificate is issued to confirm this.
Technical Support
Once the technology transfer project is completed, LabGenetics offers technical support to the laboratory for a minimum period of 1 year. During this period, LabGenetics will provide continuous technical support to address any issues and resolve any questions that may arise.
